A Fermi sea of electrons

qm

Quantum oscillations have the powerful ability to uniquely identify the statistics of low energy excitations associated with the measured state. Our measurements revealed that despite the mysterious character of the copper oxide superconductors’ ‘normal’ state, the low energy excitations of this state are characteristic of a Fermi liquid at high magnetic fields.
